How do I rank NHL goalies by goals saved above expected?
A goalie leaderboard for a season sorted by goals saved above expected, with save percentage, GAA, high-danger save percentage and a recent-form trend.
Code verified October 10, 2026. One call to get_goalie_stats, 5 credits.
The call
sort_by also takes save_pct, gaa or wins. Add team to see one club's goalies.
import requests
import pandas as pd
API_KEY = "YOUR_API_KEY"
resp = requests.post(
"https://mcp.puckapi.com/v1/get_goalie_stats",
headers={"x-api-key": API_KEY},
json={
"season": "20252026",
"min_games": 30,
"sort_by": "gsax",
"limit": 15,
},
timeout=60,
)
resp.raise_for_status()
data = resp.json()["data"]
goalies = pd.DataFrame(data["goalies"])
cols = ["playerName", "team", "gamesPlayed", "savePct", "gaa", "gsax", "highDangerSavePct", "trend"]
print(goalies[cols].round(3))
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with a key from your dashboard. Python needs requests and pandas (pip install requests pandas). JavaScript runs on Node 18 or newer, or in the browser.
What comes back
